On March 18th I'm doing a 6 hour round trip to St Thomas, Ontario to pick up a half a side of beef from a small local butcher who selected a cow based off my criteria. I specifically asked for a side beef from a small 'hobby' farm, grass fed, no hormones, no antibiotics, no bullshit. Now, I don't need 300lbs of beef so I'm hoping I can split this up and give a bunch of friends the opportunity to get the best quality beef we can get, and at a fraction of the cost. 

When you buy meat from the supermarket or butcher, the cost per lb varies depending what the cut is. For example: 1lb of ground beef is $10 where a 1lb ribeye steak might be $40, (and that isn't even necessarily hormone free.) By me going straight to the source I'm able to offer a whole pack of different cuts for the flat price of $10 per lb.

A side of beef is going to give me say 100 steaks, 60lb of ground beef, some roasts, some stewing beef and more bones for bone broth then I'll know what to do with.

In order to make this as simple as possible for me, I'm offering a 10lb mixed 'box' for $100 or a 15lb box for $150.

You will get a selection of steaks, ground beef and a roast. They will be wrapped up so they will last for months in the freezer. 

To be totally transparent I have no idea exactly which cuts or how many of what I'm going to get. I know that there will be rib steaks, tenderloins steaks, strip loins, blade steaks, sirloins, rump roasts, cut roasts, the list goes on... 

The point is, I will create the best mix possible for each box but I can't guarantee what you will get. However, imagine having a bunch of 1/2lb steaks in your freezer that cost you $5 instead of $20. That's what makes this deal so sweet.

I have no desire to become a meat shop or turn this into a money making venture, but I'm sick of paying so much for meat now and I know there are a lot of people who feel the same way.
